Day 8, 4th of September 2011

(Presentation of the day was made by the Romanian group)

Today we woke up at 7 a.m., we had breakfast at 7:15 and at 7:50 we took our way to Brasov.

After we arrived there, we went to Piata Sfatului, where we put some posters. It was nice because we were like a green sea (we were all wearing those green T-shirts with ”Green Consumer”). Then the green sea had to move in the market where we spread leaflets while Tolea, Iulia and Ana were interviewing the customers and the sellers about consuming.

After that, we left the market, spread more leaflets in the city, have some free time to hike to the citadel and visit the old town.

Then, we left again for Rasnov were we had visited the fortress and took a very nice group picture.

After that we were headed for Bran, where some of us visited Draculas castle, the others the open market in front of it.
Finally, we were on our way to Vila Cristina. We had a short break and after diner we started the activities.
We watched again the video presentation that we had made in each day, just to ”refresh” our memories.
We had some questionnaires about the whole week, then the ”Hand Evaluation”: we had to draw our palm on a piece of paper and we had to write the best thing happend on the big finger, something we will take with us on the pointing finger, on the middle finger something we did not like, a promise for the future on the ring finger and something little on the little finger.

After that we had the ”Final Evaluation”, shaped like a Pizza. The rules were simple: you had to put a point on the pizza acording to your feelings about this project, in the middle was the worst project ever, on the edge was ”great”. The Pizza had 8 slices, ”Acomodation”, ”Facilities”, ”Food”, ”Group Dinamics”, ”Activities”, ”Free time”, ”Learning process”, ”Organization”.
We could say that the result was a good pizza, if you know what I mean.

Then, the big moment, the reveal of the secret friend AND the youth pass. One volunteer went in the front and described his/hers secret friend, and the rest of us had to guess. Then he/she had to give the youth pass to his/hers secret friend.

One more activity and the work is over: we turned off the lights, and each of us, one by one, lighted a match and while the match burned we had to say what we feel about this project. It was a nice atmosphere, full of magic and good memories.

Then some of us went to sleep, a long way back home is waiting for them, some staied and talked, daced or played.
But soon we will have to say goodbye to each other and who knows when or if we are going to meet again.
This is the end of the presentation.

Day7, 3rd of September 2011

(Presentation of the day made by the Polish group)

We started our day with a short energizer which was the game with chairs. Afterwards we were told about the activities which we were supposed to do during the day. All the activities were related to campaign which took place next day in Brasov. We were divided to groups and each group had a different task. We had to prepare flyers, poster, and video to encourage people to be “more green” and aware them about responsible consuming. Our work had to be finished until the dinner. Around 6, before the dinner we gathered in the main room and collected all our work. After the dinner there was a leaders meeting to establish the details for the next day (campaign in Brasov). After that we had a night club disco, so we went to the local club and had a nice party there. At the end of the day all the campaign was already prepared and ready to spread it next day.

Day 6, 2nd of September 2011

(Presentation of the day was made by the Italin group)

The Italian day started with a very big news : Luca, finally, is alive! After two days of bed he was able to join our team!

So, thanks also to our friend's cooperation, we started energically with
a very complicated energizer : Ninja game!!!

Only two fighters survived : Christian and Michele. Good job guys!

After having fun, we had a very hard morning because the first decision that we had to take was a very difficult one : if you have to choose only 10 things to survive, which ones they will be?

Many people chose water, air, animals, clothes, vegetables; but we found also out that somebody
would not be able to live without books or computers. What do you think about it? Are they really necessary?

Anyway, after this arduous decision, we were divided into eight groups in order to put on scene a representation or song about how will be the world with only 8 things we picked up before.

After lunch, it was time of another energizer. This one was not about ninja but....zombies!!!

Day 5, 1st of September 2011

(The presentation of the day was made by the Latvian group)

1st of September in Green Consumer way.. J
While in many countries this day is the first school day, Green Consumers weren’t going to school today. But You also can not say, that we didn’t learn anything.
Morning started earlier, than usual (at 7.45 there was breakfast waiting for us already). After that at 8.15 we all (yes, we were all on time!!!) sat into the taxis and went straight to Sinaia to see, what I am told, the must-see object in Romania – the Peles Castle. And I must agree to it – the place is AMAZING! All the participants were going through the building and it’s surroundings with eyes wide open and making sounds like “ooohhh” and “ahhh” J
Afterwards we went to see the Sinaia Monastery. On our way there were a lot of souvenirs, and as good tourists, we took some time in those places.
From about 12.00 till 13.30 we had lunch in Sinaia. Everyone could choose whatever they wanted – someone choose to eat pizza (maybe because of gratis beer..? J ), someone wanted to economy money a bit and had some kebabs, but at the end everyone was happy!!
With stomachs full, we went to tele-cabin to get up on to the mountain. (some of people wanted to rest a bit or were scared from height, so they stayed in city) But up there we had some unexpected guests – rain and thunder. But Green Consumers are never worried about anything!! We went to the little cafeteria, took some hot chocolate, coffee or hot wine and had some time there just enjoying the view and each others company.
At the way down we split – there were people taking minibus down and also some who choose just the same way, as we took up – the tele-cabin. But anyway, this all included a lot of fun, wet clothes and laughter.
We took the train from Sinaia back to Busteni, and at the moment when we got back, it also had finished to rain.
Back at hostel we made a midterm evaluation. The conclusion of that was – this is one of the best projects we all are participating! We have great accommodation (there were some complains about vegetarian food, but at the exact evening guys who are not eating meat, got their meals as well), people are friendly and willing to work together not to make conflicts.
This evening we had a disco. But it was not every other disco!! It was the Salad disco. Each country got the table on which there were some vegetables and it was possible to get some more and also some spices on common table. We had about half an hour to cook everything. I have to say that music and dancing makes the process as interesting and fun as it can be. And as in a lot of things, process is the main thing, not the result, we were not worried if some ingredients were not supposed to mix together or something. We just were enjoying the time and the evening, and actually at the end also got some nice things.
Getting back to what we learned – we got to know some facts about history of Romania in the castle and also in monastery, saw everyday Romanian lifestyle, could see how green or not it is. But I guess the most important thing that we got out of this day, and also from all the other days in here – we get to know other persons, other cultures and with that ourselves too. It is like living through the popular slogan “all different, all equal!”

Day 4, 31th of August 2011

(The presentation of the day was made by the Estonian group)

We woke up as usual and later it was a surprise because we were going hiking in mountains.
After an energizer held by Estonian group (Heeey, baby!) and the previous day evaluation shown by Lithuanians  everyone was ready to go.
First we started with a group forming activities and later collected some garbage around the place.
Then it came time to chairlift to the mountain (nice experience).
The view from up there was gorgeous! Time was running so fast and soon we were walking down the mountain to Vila Cristina.
After the dinner it was another wonderful and creative activity – an island building.
Some chose banana republic, while the others appeared to live on a strawberry field and other very green places. The main criteria were to be nature friendly and to use only biological materials. Some guys appeared to be really good in it.
The day finished with a hobby show. There was a lot of interesting to see and to be taught (jangling, guitar playing, rope walking etc, etc.) so, it was day 4 of our stay in Busteni nice as ever.

Day 3, 30th of August 2011

(Presentation of the day made by the Spanish Group)

3th day report (30th August) – Spanish group

Morning:Youth presentantion, Ngo bazaar,

Afternoon:  Eco-anti eco
Evening: dinner.
30 minutes after diner we had a second diner.  I am starting to love this exchange! Each country prepared a table with the typical food (and of course drinks) from their region. I have two rules: 1. Eat as much as you can, and 2. If it is free it is good! So it was a perfect night for me!
Romania: they prepared quite good traditional food and home-made alcohol. The food I enjoyed more was the spicy salami and the home-made alcohol. Actually it was quite strong but not too high graduation.
Lithuania:  I’m not used to eat cucumber, but they offer me some of them (and they were free) so I couldn’t refuse! They put some honey in the top of the cucumber. It is a mix of flavour that I really recommend it to taste. The home made wine from apple was good!

Day 2, 29th of August 2011

(The presentation of the day was made by Lituanian's group leader)

First day ended with nice evening – starting to know each other, telling stories about travelling to Romania and Busteni.
Second day started with nice energizer from Tolea. We pressed the buttons with our hands, legs, with our butt. Everybody is in good mood.
After that house rules were given to participants. Rules are very simple. Take care of each other, do not burn the house, etc.
And the first game – „secret friend“. Everybody has got a friend, which is secret – a friend does not know who is his secret „fan“. That makes staying in Busteni more fun – we will make some surprises for our secret friend.
And then – dinner, some rest, and a walk in Busteni with some tasks. Participants were divided to 5 groups. Each of the group had to find some special places in the city and to make some pictures. Each group made very nice presentations from those pictures in the evening.
Also we had short and very nice walk in the mountains to the waterfall.
And final evaluation of the day – everybody is satisfied with second day events and full of energy for the next day.
